Cyprus Property Stamp Duty on Signing your Purchase Contract

 

Cyprus property stamp duty is payable on your Cyprus property investment or new home when your lawyer has finalized the purchasing contracts. Stamp duty is payable by the purchaser at the rate of C£1.50 per C£1,000 (thousand) up to the value of C£100,000 and thereafter at the rate of C£2 per C£1,000 (per thousand).

 

Cyprus property stamp duty payable if the purchase price is C£150,000:

 

First C£100,000 @ 1.5‰

C£150

Next C£50,000  @  2.0‰

C£100

Total

C£250

Note: The purchase contract must be stamped within 30 days of its signing and deposited at the District Land Register Office within a maximum of 60 days.

 

Note: If you do not stamp the contract and you subsequently have a dispute, you will have to stamp the contract and pay a small penalty.
